Here are the center’s signs that you may need a mental health day:

  • You are struggling with mental issues that are affecting your ability to work.
  • You feel distracted or have trouble focusing.
  • You are postponing health care appointments for work.

If you cannot take a mental health day, the Gooden Center says you should try to reduce stress in other ways — such as by meditating for 15 minutes or exercising.
